Two separate payments stand between you and a seat on the cliff: the show ticket and the temple entry. Here is what each costs, who sells it and what an online ticket changes.

Quick answer
The most common surprise about Uluwatu Temple kecak dance tickets is that the show is not part of the temple visit. The temple management sells the dance as its own ticket, and its entrance fee page says plainly that temple entry covers neither parking nor the show.3 So whoever you buy from, plan for two separate charges: one to walk through the temple gate and one to take a seat in the amphitheater on the cliff.
On the management's own list, the Uluwatu kecak dance ticket price is IDR 150,000 per adult; children aged 2 to 9 pay IDR 75,000.1 At the temple gate a foreign adult pays IDR 60,000 and a foreign child IDR 40,000, with lower rates of IDR 40,000 and IDR 30,000 for domestic visitors.2 Children pay at both windows as well, each at the child rate.
The sarong and sash you must wear inside the grounds are handed out free at the entrance, so there is nothing to rent and no reason to buy one from a stall on the way.5 What does cost extra is the car park, which neither ticket includes.4 Keep that small sum apart in your pocket, and the whole arrival takes a few minutes instead of a scramble for change at the barrier.
The ticket side of the evening
Before you leave
One amount for the temple gate, one for parking; payment is generally cash only.4
16:00
The amphitheater gate opens at 16:00, well before the dancers come out.6
At the main gate
IDR 60,000 for a foreign adult, sarong and sash free at the entrance.25
Before 5:00 PM
The management says the best seats go to those who come before 5:00 PM.7
18:00
Every day the chorus starts at 18:00 and falls silent at 19:00.6
The managing body sells kecak tickets at its official booth by the temple entrance, and it notes that some platforms also offer pre-booking online.8 Its advice on payment is short: payments are generally cash only, so bring the exact amount.4 Cards are not something to count on at a cliff-top counter with a queue behind you, and a crisp stack of the right notes is the fastest way through.
If you run short, the temple grounds list an ATM among their facilities.9 That is a fallback rather than a plan, as the machine and the queue are both in the same busy hour before the show. Withdrawing in Jimbaran, Kuta or wherever you stay, and splitting the notes into a show envelope and a temple envelope, keeps the evening calm.
Tickets go fast in busy periods. The management warns that the show is highly popular and that tickets may sell out quickly in peak seasons.10 That is the real argument for buying your Uluwatu Temple kecak dance ticket online: less the price than a place held for the evening you have planned, with the booth reserved for the one payment you cannot make in advance, the temple entry.

One listing sells the show with Uluwatu temple entry and a guide.
A guide meets you at the north visitor gate, kecak ticket optional.
Search for the price and you will find several official-looking numbers, and they really do differ. The Ministry of Tourism's kecak guide lists Rp150,000 on site and Rp139,000 online for an adult show ticket, Rp 75,000 for children aged 3 to 9, free entry for babies, and temple entry of Rp50,000 for adults and Rp30,000 for children.11
A second Ministry page, about Pura Uluwatu itself, gives the show as Rp150,000 for domestic and IDR 200,000 for foreign visitors, and temple entry as IDR 100,000 for a foreign adult and IDR 50,000 for a foreign child.1213 Those are the highest of the official figures, and they do not match the temple's own list.
We follow the body that runs the gate. The temple management's figures are IDR 150,000 for the show and IDR 60,000 for a foreign adult's entry, and the ticket listing sold on this site quotes the same IDR 60,000 for the temple.12 Carry a little more than that in small notes, and a revised price on the day will not leave you stuck at the window.

The entry ticket this site books is sold by Globaltix Indonesia and covers the kecak and fire dance show only, a performance of 1 hour. It starts from $9 and carries 5,457 reviews with an average of 4.18. You pick the date and time slot when you book, and the ticket is valid for that slot alone.
On the day you go straight to the show entrance with the voucher, arriving at least 30 minutes before your slot, and you bring a passport or ID card. Entry to the temple is extra and settled at the gate, and the cash envelope from the first section still matters. Children aged 4 to 9 pay the child rate on this listing.
The cancellation terms are worth reading twice. This ticket can be cancelled free of charge up to 2 days in advance for a full refund; after that, the listing allows no cancellation, refund or rescheduling without the organizer's approval. If your plans on Bali are loose, book once the evening is certain, and leave the other days open.
Several sellers offer the very same performance. One kecak ticket listing quotes the temple ticket at 60k for an international adult and 40k for a child, payable in cash on site, and seats people first come, first served; it starts from $9 with 1,350 reviews and cancels free up to 24 hours before.
Another sells the evening ticket alone or bundled with Uluwatu temple entry and a guide, and it is the listing that names a 7 PM second session in the evening season beside the 6 PM show. It also starts from $9 and has 3,801 reviews. Its confirmation arrives by email 2 to 12 hours after booking, so book it before the day itself.
A third route is a guided visit: one tour meets you at the north visitor entry gate for 75 minutes in the temple, with the kecak ticket as an option. It starts from $16. Whichever you choose, compare what each listing includes, the temple fee above all, rather than the headline price.
Age rules are where the sellers differ most. The temple's own booth gives the child rate to ages 2 to 9, the Ministry of Tourism's guide quotes it for ages 3 to 9 with babies free, and the ticket booked on this site applies its child rate to ages 4 to 9.111 Check the age bands on whatever you buy against the ages of your own children before you pay.
The amphitheater itself needs some planning with a pushchair or a wheelchair. The listing calls the venue wheelchair and stroller accessible, yet stairs lead to the show area and assistance is recommended. The temple lists wheelchairs among its facilities for elderly or disabled visitors, which helps on the paths between the gate and the stage.14
With small children, the cliff deserves as much attention as the show. The Ministry of Tourism asks parents to keep children supervised at all times, as the temple stands on a steep cliff, and the management forbids sitting or climbing on the boundary walls.1516 Agree on a meeting point before you join the crowd, and hold small hands on the walk out after dark.
Arrive early even with a ticket in your phone. The management asks visitors to be there at least one hour before the performance, and its own visitor tips say the best seats go to those who come before 5:00 PM.107 Your voucher secures entry; it does not reserve a particular bench.
The order of things is simple once you know it. Pay the temple entry at the counter near the main gate, collect your sarong and sash, walk the cliff path to the amphitheater and show the voucher at the show entrance.5 Leave enough time to stop for the view on the way; the light on the cliff before the show is part of what you came for.
Pack light. Large backpacks or luggage may not be allowed into the seating area, and the temple's macaques take an interest in anything loose.1718 A small bag that closes, your cash split into two amounts, the voucher and an ID card are all you need for the ticket side of the evening.
